5. Prospero is literally a magician in this version of “The Tempest,” which played earlier in 2014 at American Repertory Theater in Boston and at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, Ca. Real-life magician Teller (of Penn & Teller fame) and playwright/director Aaron Posner teamed up to import sleight-of-hand—as well as Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan tunes—to the magical island.
