PlayMakers producing artistic director Joseph Haj gave a nod to the storybook heritage of Cinderella and her ilk with his “Into the Woods”: The entire set was a library, beginning with the narrator picking up a book and reading from it. To take the concept further, book carts and ladders were used as props. That’s one way to get young audiences to the library.
