Theatre Vertigo Announces 2015–16 Season

The season’s roster features Adam Bock, Rob Handel, and Caryl Churchill.

PORTLAND, ORE.: Theatre Vertigo has announced its 2015–16 season with three plays, including a world premiere and regional premiere.

The season begins with Adam Bock’s The Drunken City (Oct. 23–Nov. 21), about a  young bride-to-be who begins to question marriage after an evening of bar crawling with her girlfriends. KL Cullom will direct.

Next will be the world premiere of Rob Handel’s I Want to Destroy You (Jan. 22–Feb. 20, 2016), an exploration of ethics, class, and education inspired by the story of Chris Burden—an artist whose career rose after he was intentionally shot in the arm in a performance art show. Matthew B. Zrebski will direct.

The season concludes with the regional premiere of  Caryl Churchill’s Love and Information (April 8–May 8, 2016), a compilation of 57 plays with more than 100 questioning characters trying to make sense of what they know  and what they don’t.  Michelle Seaton will direct.
