Actor’s Co-op Announces 2015–16 Season

The roster includes Stephen Schwartz, Tennessee Williams, Brian Friel and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

LOS ANGELES: Actor’s Co-op has announced its 2015–16 season, including two plays and two musicals.

The season begins with The Baker’s Wife (Sept. 18–Oct. 25), with a book by Joseph Stein and music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. The musical is about a French baker who stops making his mouth-watering bread when his wife leaves him, and the town who works to rekindle the couple’s love to bring back the bread. Richard Israel will direct.

Next is Hound of the Baskervilles (Oct. 16–Nov. 22), adapted by Tim Kelly from the novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, about Sherlock’s quest to solve the mystery of a diabolical canine.

Following will be Tennessee Williams’s Summer and Smoke (March 4–April 17, 2016), about a repressed spinster hopelessly in love with the hedonistic son of the town doctor.

The season will close with Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa (May 6–June 12, 2016), about a radio that transforms the lives of five unmarried sisters living in a small village in Ireland in 1936.
