The playwright-driven theatre will feature world premieres by Alan Berks and Trista Baldwin and an area premiere by Carson Kreitzer.

MINNEAPOLIS: Workhaus Playwrights Collective has announced its 2015–16 season, including two world premieres and one regional premiere.

The season begins with the world premiere of Alan Berks’s Feast of Wolves (Nov. 6—5), about a family’s escalating appetite for power and vengeance after their son returns home from the war. Terry Hempleman, Charity Jones, Jason Rojas, Jay Eisenberg, and Eric Weidman will star. Jeremy Wilhelm will direct the production, which will be part Southern Theater’s ArtShare program.

Next will be Trista Baldwin’s the world premiere of Queen of Iraq (Feb. 18—28, 2016), with music by the Wilhelm Brothers and Company. This exploration of the life and letters of a woman who took her own life in Baghdad in 1926 will feature Taous Khazem, Pearce Bunting, and Annie Enneking. Wilhelm will direct.

Next will be Carson Kreitzer’s Lasso of Truth (April 15—May 1, 2016), about William Marston and his polyamorous relationship with two women, who both inspired his creation of Wonder Woman. Leah Cooper will direct this Twin Cities premiere, a coproduction with Walking Shadow Theatre Company.
