Showtunes Theatre Company Announces Season of Concerts

The season brings largely unsung musicals to audiences in concert form.

SEATTLE: Showtunes Theatre Company has announced its 2015—16 season, including three concerts featuring local musical theatre performers.

The season begins with Songs We Know (Dec. 5—6), performed by the Washingtonians along with the King Counties band, in a concert of showtunes and choral arrangements led by Scott Warrender.

Next will be the concert version of Finian’s Rainbow (March 19—20, 2016), with music by Burton Lane and lyrics by E.Y. Harburg, about a father and daughter who leave Ireland to strike it rich in America with a crock of gold.

The season concludes with Working (May 7—8, 2016) in concert, based on Studs Terkels’s oral history, with a book by Stephen Schwartz and Nina Faso, music by Schwartz, Craig Carnelia, Micki Grant, James Taylor, and Mary Rodgers, and additional lyrics by Susan Birkenhead.
