Company XIV Announces Another Sensual Season

Three adult-oriented dance/theatre works feature the troupe’s signature mix of opera, circus, and burlesque.

NEW YORK CITY: Company XIV has announced its 2015—16 season, including two world premieres and a holiday favorite.  Artistic director Austin McCormick is credited with conceiving, choreographing, and directing all of the season’s offerings at the Minetta Lane Theatre.

The season begins with the world premiere of Cinderella (Sept. 22—Nov. 15), an erotic retelling of the fairy tale by Charles Perrault featuring live opera, vaudeville, burlesque, and circus. The cast includes Hilly Bodin, Katrina Cunningham, Lea Helle, Jakob Karr, Nicholas Katen, Malik Kitchen, Mark Osmundsen, Davon Rainey, Marcy Richardson, Steven Trumon Gray, Allison Ulrich, and Brett Umlauf.

Just in time for the holidays will be the revival of Company XIV’s holiday show Nutcracker Rouge (Nov. 24—Jan. 17, 2016), a sensual reimagining of The Nutcracker.

Following will be the world premiere of Snow White (Jan. 26—March 12, 2016), inspired by the Brothers Grimm and featuring opera, circus, and dance.
