ADDISON, TEX.: WaterTower Theatre (WTT) has announced that producing artistic director Terry Martin will step down from his post this summer. Martin will start a new position as head of fine arts at the Greenhill School in Addison beginning July 1.

“We are so proud of Terry Martin and all that he has accomplished for WaterTower Theatre during his 17-year tenure as producing artistic director,” said chairman of the board Derek Blount in a statement.

During his tenure, Martin has overseen more than 150 productions at WaterTower Theatre. His directing credits at WTT include Dogfight, Full Gallop, Sexy Laundry, The Grapes of Wrath, Putting it Together, On the Town, Spring Awakening, and The Diary of Anne Frank, among many others. He recently appeared onstage at WTT  in All My Sons. Prior to WTT, he worked in New York City for 12 years. He directed and acted at the Village Theatre Company, Carnegie Hall Studios, and Theatre at St. Marks. He also made television appearances on ABC’s One Life to Live and NBC’s To Serve and Protect. Martin served as adjunct professor of acting at the University of Texas Dallas, and he currently teaches the Meisner technique at WTT. He holds a BFA from the University of Alabama.
