MINNEAPOLIS: The Jungle Theater has named Christopher Scholl as its new managing director. He will work alongside artistic director Sarah Rasmussen, who was hired by the theatre in 2015.

“I’m thrilled to join the Jungle, one of the Twin Cities’ most vibrant and important theatres,” Scholl said in a statement. “It’s very exciting to be paired with a visionary artistic director like Sarah Rasmussen, and I look forward to supporting the mission of the Jungle in this role.”

Scholl has a dual background in fundraising and scenic design. He was previously the major gifts officer for the University of Minnesota College of Design. He is also currently completing his MBA in strategic management in the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota; he will finish this fall. As a freelance designer, he’s designed sets for theatres in Connecticut, Washington, D.C., and Chicago.

The Jungle Theater was founded in 1991. Its cofounder and leader, Bain Boehlke, retired last year.
