The recipients will be granted space and time to work on new projects.

PETERBOROUGH, N.H.: The MacDowell Colony has awarded 67 artists working in seven disciplines with fellowships this season. The recipients were selected from a pool of 574 applications. A panel of professionals in each discipline picked the recipients.

“The projects this group of artists will be working on at MacDowell offer a stunning testament to the wide-ranging subject matter being tackled by today’s greatest talents,” said executive director Cheryl A. Young in a statement.

This year’s recipients include Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, who plans to work on a radical adaptation of the 15th century play Everyman during his fellowship. The play is scheduled to premiere at New York City’s Signature Theatre in 2017. Other recipients in the discipline of theatre are Jim Findlay, Aleshea Harris, Daaimah Mubashshir, Robert Plowman, Andrea Thome, and Alina Troyano.
