The season lineup includes six productions of contemporary works.

PROVIDENCE, R.I.: The Wilbury Theatre Group has announced its 2017-18 season, featuring six mainstage productions.

The season will start with Harold Pinter’s The Caretaker (Sept.-Oct.), about a power struggle that erupts between two brothers when one of them brings a homeless man into their London flat. Richard Donnelly will star.

Next up will be Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’s Neighbors (Oct.-Nov.), about a neighborhood’s disputes of race, politics, and fence lines. Christopher Johnson will direct.

Following will be Churches (Dec.), by Young Jean Lee, an examination of why people believe what they believe.

The season will continue with The Skin of Our Teeth (Jan.-Feb., 2018), by Thornton Wilder, about a family that narrowly escapes one end-of-the-world disaster after another.

Next will be Annie Baker’s The Flick (March-April, 2018), about three underpaid employees working at a run-down movie theatre in Massachusetts.

The season will close out with The Pirates of Penzance; Or, The Slave of Duty (May-June, 2018), adapted by Sean Graney and Kevin O’Donnell from W.S. Gilbert  and Arthur Sullivan, an eccentric take on the classic musical about a young pirate who falls for the Major General’s daughter.

The programming will also include 3 workshop and full-scale productions from the company’s new works program, including Phoenyx Williams’s adaptation of Alred Jarry’s Ubu Roi.
