Allison Bressi Receives T. Fellowship for Emerging Producers

The sixth T. Fellow, chosen to develop a new theatrical production, will attend classes at Columbia’s School of the Arts.

NEW YORK CITY: Allison Bressi has been chosen as this year’s Geraldine Stutz T. Fellow. The fellowship, in association with Columbia University School of the Arts, is a one-year program that gives new creative producers the chance to develop a  theatrical production while taking classes in Columbia’s theatre management and producing program. The fellow receives a stipend of $10,000 and a $20,000 budget for the production.

Allison Bressi is a New York-based creative producer committed to making and developing new work in close partnership with playwrights. Her recent world premiere production of Songbird by Michael Kimmel and Lauren Pritchard, starring Kate Baldwin, ran Off-Broadway and was a New York Times Critics’ Pick. Allison is the associate artistic director for Theatre for One under scenic designer and artistic director Christine Jones and works at Signature Theatre. She was the assistant company manager for the Broadway revival of On the Town and has worked with companies such as Ars Nova, Foresight Theatrical, NYMF, New York Stage and Film, and Roundabout Theatre Company.

“Allison has experience Off Broadway and her project is unique, challenging, and by my standards extremely promising,” said Allison’s mentor and the program’s founder, Harold Prince, in a statement. In addition to Prince, the T. Fellowship mentors are Margo Lion, Gregory Mosher, Tom Schumacher, Jeffrey Seller, and David Stone.

The T. Fellowship honors Broadway producer T. Edward Hambleton by continuing to honor and support emerging theatrical producers. Previous winners include Orin Wolf, John Pinkard, Aaron Glick, Jen Hoguet, and Christopher Maring.

The T. Fellowship is committed to supporting the role of creative producing. The project-based program exposes fellows to a range of contemporary theatrical producing practices while allowing them to  utilize their own style.
