SEATTLE: Taproot Theatre Company has announced its 2018 season, featuring five mainstage productions.

The season will start with Mark St. Germain’s Camping with Henry and Tom (Jan. 24-Feb. 24, 2018), inspired by a real event, in which Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, and President Warren G. Harding are stranded together in the woods.

Next up will be Crowns (March 21-April 21, 2018), adapted by Regina Taylor from the book  by Michael Cunningham and Craig Marberry, about a young girl from Brooklyn struggling to find her place in the world.

Following will be Oscar Wilde’s Lady Windermere’s Fan (May 16-June 16, 2018), a comedy about a family whose lives are upended when rumors about an affair arise.

Next will be Sweet Land (July 11-Aug. 18, 2018), with book by Perrin Post and Laurie Flanigan Hegge, music by Dina Maccabee, and lyrics Laurie Flanigan Hegge. Based on the film of the same title by Ali Selim and the short story “A Gravestone Made of Wheat” by Will Weaver, the musical follows a young German woman who ventures to Minnesota to marry a man she has never met.

The season will conclude with Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery (Sept. 12-Oct. 13, 2018), a mystery about a diabolical hound that plagues generations of the Baskerville family.

Taproot Theatre Company, founded in 1976, brings entertainment to the Pacific Northwest with its two performance spaces, acting studio, and touring program.
