National Endowment of the Arts Announces Grant Recipients

Of $25 million in NEA grants this round, more than $2 million goes to 123 theatres across the U.S.

WASHINGTON, D.C.: The National Endowment of the Arts has announced the recipients of its first of two major grant rounds of the 2018 fiscal year. More than $25 million will be awarded across all artistic disciplines to support specific projects, exhibitions, performances, arts education programs, festivals, and more. A total of $2,905,000 has been given to 123 theatre organizations across the country.

“It is energizing to see the impact that the arts are making throughout the United States,” said chairman Jane Chu in a statement. “These NEA-supported projects are good examples of how the arts build stronger and more vibrant communities, improve well-being, prepare our children to succeed, and increase the quality of our lives. At the National Endowment for the Arts, we believe that all people should have access to the joy, opportunities, and connections the arts bring.”
