BLOOMSBURG, PA.: Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble (BTE) has announced its 2018-19 season, featuring five productions.

The season will start with Nell Benjamin’s The Explorer’s Club (Sept. 13-Oct. 7), a comedy about a stodgy London boys club in 1879 contemplating admitting their first female member. Leigh Strimbeck will direct.

Next up will be the classic MGM musical The Wizard of Oz (Nov. 23-Dec. 29), by Frank L. Baum, about Dorothy’s adventure to the magical land of Oz. Richard Cannaday will direct.

Following will be Industrious Angels (Jan. 31-Feb. 3, 2019), by Laurie McCants, about a daughter searching for the connections between herself and her mother. The solo show will feature puppetry and music. Sabrina Hamilton will direct.

The season will continue with The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (March 28-April 14, 2019), by Simon Stephens. The play, based on Mark Haddon’s novel, follows an extraordinary 15-year-old boy who sets out to investigate a neighborhood crime. Elizabeth Dowd will direct.

Next will be Every Brilliant Thing (April 25-May 19, 2019), by Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe, about a young boy writing a list of all the things worth living for while his mom is in the hospital. Richard Cannaday will star, and Eric Wunsch will direct.

In addition to the mainstage season, comedian and magician John Graham will perform (Jan. 25-27, 2019).
