The company will feature three regional premieres by female playwrights.
Hilary Bettis, Clarence Coo, Bennett Fisher, Lauren Gunderson, Nilan Johnson, and Mona Mansour will receive readings of their plays.
The female-focused theatre’s 2017-18 season will include new works from Monica Bill Barnes & Company and Kate Benson.
The lineup will feature the theatre’s first Tennessee Williams work and the first major revival of Oscar Hammerstein II’s ‘Carmen Jones.’
The California theatre will present new plays by Rachel Bonds, Lauren Yee, Amy Freed, and Kemp Powers.
Along with themed 2017-18 slate, the company announces new social media platform, the Hive.
The season will include four productions, two readings, and a commissioned musical for children.
The company will move into its new permanent home at the Vault Theatre during the season.
The productions will be performed at CoHo Theatre and Imago Theatre in Portland.
The slate includes new plays by José Cruz González and Anna Zeigler, and a musical based on ‘Benny & Joon.
