BOSTON: Boston Playwrights’ Theatre has announced a season of new plays for the 2015-16 year, featuring three new works.

“I’m so proud to have these wonderful playwrights with us to explore our current state of affairs in America,” said artistic director Kate Snodgrass in a statement. “These plays comment brilliantly on what we face daily.”

The season begins with Robert Brustein’s Exposed (opening in Dec.), a Boston University New Play Initiative production coproduced with Boston Center for American Performance, about a Texas billionaire who seeks forgiveness from a Christian televangelist. Steven Bogart will direct.

Next will be Melinda Lopez’s Back the Night (opening in Feb. 2016), about violence on a college campus and how a student makes some unexpected discoveries after her friend is assaulted. Daniela Varon will direct.

The season will conclude with Wesley Savick’s new adaptation of Eugene Ionesco’s Rhinoceros, a coproduction with the Suffolk University Theatre Department. Savick will direct.
