SILVER SPRING, MD.: Forum Theatre has announced its 2015–16 season, named #Forum12, which includes a contemporary play, a rolling world premiere, a regional premiere, and a revival.

“I’m really excited by the range of topics and conversations we are exploring this season,” said producing artistic director Michael Dove in a statement. “Big questions about important and sometimes difficult subjects are at the core of what we do, and this season is a great example of that. The relevance of these stories and the incredible array of artists will make for a pretty explosive year at Forum.”

The season begins with ensemble member Anu Yadav’s ‘Capers (Oct. 20—23), a one-woman show about the families who protested the government-funded demolition of the Arthur Capper/Carrollsburg public housing projects in D.C. ‘Capers is a coproduction with dog & pony dc. Patrick Crowley will direct.

Next will be the regional premiere of Johnna Adams’s World Builders (Oct. 29—Nov. 21), about two patients in a clinical trial who blur the lines between the fantasy worlds in their heads and real life. Laura C. Harris and Daniel Corey will star, and Amber McGinnis Jackson will direct, at Woolly Mammoth rehearsal studios in D.C.

Following is Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman (March 10—April 2, 2016), about a writer in an unnamed totalitarian state who is being interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a series of child murders. The cast will feature Maboud Ebrahimzadeh, James Konicek, and Bradley Foster. Yury Urnov will direct.

Next is Steve Yockey’s Blackberry Winter (May 19—June 11, 2016), a National New Play Network rolling world premiere, about a woman who is unprepared for her mother’s slide into the grip of dementia. Dove will direct.

Also part of the season will be a curated series of programming around the continuing conversation about race in America.
