Six theatres will use the funding for various community engagement projects focused on youth and multi-generational audiences.
The performer, writer, and educator will be the first to take on the role with the company.
The children’s theatre company will feature plays and musicals set in Korea, New York, Australia, Japan, and the Kingdom of Hawaii.
The theatre’s 2019-20 lineup will include a techno opera and theatrical museum and will feature several co-productions.
Four commissioned writers will write new plays in honor of the centennial of women’s suffrage.
The lineup will include classic and contemporary plays and musicals.
The 2019-20 lineup will include works by Vanessa Claire Stewart, Dave Hanson, Bob DeRosa, and Madhuri Shekar.
The lineup features two musicals, plus a world premiere play by Sylvan Oswald.
