The Dramatists Guild of America has selected Schreck’s ‘What the Constitution Means to Me’ for the prize.
Jez Butterworth, Robert Horn, David Yazbek, and Heidi Schreck will be awarded at a private reception later this month.
Other winners include ‘Rags Parkland Sings the Songs of the Future’ and ‘Pass Over.’
The 12 recipients will be recognized for their debut performances on and Off-Broadway this season.
Organizations around the country will receive $75k to $150k to help foster a love of theatre within young people.
The California company will be recognized for its 50 years of programming.
National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures has awarded 43 grants to Latinx artists and arts organizations to develop new works.
The honors, for excellence in theatre for young audiences, will go to Stan Foote, Rosemary Newcott, Chicago Children’s Theatre, and Courtney J. Boddie.
Playwrights Anchuli Felicia King and Emma Whipday’s works, inspired by ‘Othello’ and ‘Cymbeline,’ respectively, will be produced.
