Producer Daryl Roth and playwright Paula Vogel partner to launch a new annual play commissioning program.
Debuting tonight, the new platform will offer theatrical events and series, with proceeds to help companies and artists in need.
The award from the Vineyard Theatre is named for Pultizer-winning playwright Paula Vogel.
The monologuist is telling his most personal story ever at the Public Theatre, and he finds that music helps the medicine go down.
The plays are Tina Satter’s ‘Is This a Room’ and Antoinette Nwandu’s ‘Tuvalu or, The Saddest Song.’
From the birth of actor Phyllis Frelich to the opening of Vancouver’s Arts Club Theatre Company and premieres by Albee and Nottage, February has been a significant month for theatre.
The slate will feature a world premiere and two NYC premieres, including an Audible-commissioned work.
The grants will give extra rehearsal time for 10 productions of new works.
The awards will fund extra time for the development of 27 new productions across the country.
