    Wow~
I hadn’t heard about this before, and it’s pretty crazy. Having seen the production done at Theatre 3 in Dallas, I truly cannot understand why anyone would think this show needed any such fiddling with. It was a beautiful piece, that worked fantastically. I never understand why people don’t just write their own shows, rather than messing with other peoples’. Then again, the rights holders are sometimes all too eager to allow people to mess with shows, I suppose for financial reasons.

In the words of Winnie Holzman in Birds of Paradise
So many nights, and it can’t be worth it –
So many crimes in the world today:
War and corruption, hunger and blight
    Someone rewriting someone’s play!
