Eight women of color attending a monthly missionary meeting are secretly informed that the white community is planning an uprising, fueled by the birth of a biracial baby born to the town’s most prominent white couple the night before. Within the temporary shelter of this church space, these women are forced to examine how and what they feel about race, love, community, and old racial wounds.
