NEA Announces Theatre Grants Totaling $3.96 Million

Arts Midwest is biggest grantee, with 132 other arts organizations in 30 states and D.C. also receiving grants for theatre projects.

WASHINGTON, D.C.: The National Endowment for the Arts has announced 133 grants totaling $3.96 million to support theatre and musical theatre projects. Combined with grants in the first round of FY 2017 funding announced in December, the year-to-date total for the NEA’s investment in theatre is 279 grants and $7.465 million.

These grants don’t include millions more for Art Works and Our Town grants, some of which are for theatrical projects, like a $75,000 Our Town grant to the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre in Arrow Rock, Mo., or state and regional partnerships that fund local arts organizations and networks.
