“He had a persistence about him that is critical to the job,” said co-artistic director Lisa Adler in a statement. “I am very confident he is the right person for the job. I would rather have the position open than give it to the wrong person.”

Fowlkes was most recently creative manager at Jamestown, LP, where he played in key role in the creation of the rooftop experience opening soon at Ponce City Market in Atlanta. Prior to joining the development initiative, he was the director of production at the Atlanta Ballet. He also worked in New York City with Charles Cosler Theatre Design, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, and Barbizon Electric Company. He served as the director of production for Lookingglass Theatre Company in Chicago. Fowlkes received his education from Rice University and studied nonprofit management at the Georgia Center for Nonprofits.
