ATCA to Hold Workshop for Drama Critics

The workshop will bring together theatre critics in the Seattle region.

SEATTLE: The American Theatre Critics Association (ATCA), with assistance from the University of Washington School of Drama, will sponsor a workshop for drama critics Jan. 20-22, 2017. The workshop will offer participants, who have some experience writing about the arts and theatre, an opportunity to hone their writing skills.

atcaCharles McNulty of The Los Angeles Times, Karen D’Souza of The San Jose Mercury News, and Misha Berson, freelancer critic and former Seattle Times staffer, will coach the workshop. There will also be group forums and discussions about the practice of criticism and the various aspects of being a theatre critic in this time of media flux.

There will be a sliding scale participation fee, and space is limited. Please send an introductory email and review clips to Misha Berson at mishaberson@comcast.net by Jan.3, 2017 to apply for the workshop.
