SAN DIEGO, CALIF.: Diversionary Theatre has named Jenny Case to be its managing director, a newly created position. She will work alongside executive artistic director Matt M. Morrow to produce the theatre’s seasons and manage patron relationships.
“In the two years since Matt Morrow arrived, Diversionary has brought some of the most vibrant and exciting new works from across the nation to San Diego,” Case said in a statement. “I am honored to get a chance to support Matt and the Board and to be part of this theatre and its future.”
Case was the associate general manager at La Jolla Playhouse for 10 years, and during her time there oversaw company management and helped produce the WithOut Walls 2017 Festival. She also produced many developmental workshops at the Playhouse including Escape to Margaritaville, Hands on a Hardbody, Bonnie and Clyde, and Little Miss Sunshine.
“We are beyond lucky to have the talent and brains of Jenny Case at Diversionary,” said Morrow in a statement. “A longtime patron and advocate of the theatre, she is a natural choice to help lead our organization as it grows and expands its vital mission of telling LGBT stories. Her depth of experience will take us to new heights.”
