CAPE MAY, N.J: Cape May Stage has announced its 2020 season lineup, featuring four productions and a summer concert series. Due to COVID-19, the company’s production of Adopt A Sailor by Charles Evered, originally slated for this May, has been rescheduled for November.
The season will start with Neil Simon’s Last of the Red Hot Lovers (July 1-Aug. 7), about a middle-aged man anxious to join the sexual revolution before it is too late.
Next up will be Ken Levine’s Guilty Pleasures (Aug. 12-Sept. 25), about a couple in a stagnant marriage who meet their celebrity crushes while on a cruise vacation.
Following will be Shirley Valentine (Sept. 30-Oct. 30), by Willy Russell, a comedy about a middle-aged housewife who goes on an adventure to Greece with a friend.
The season will conclude with Adopt A Sailor: The Holiday Edition (Nov. 18-Dec. 27), by Charles Evered, a comedy about a hip couple from New York City who adopt a sailor from Turkey Scratch, Arkansas.
In addition to the mainstage programming, Cape May Stage will present 2020 Broadway Series: The Summer of Love, featuring performances from Storm Large (July 6), Constantine Maroulis (July 13), Ann Hampton Callaway (July 20), and Marissa Mulder (Aug. 3).
Founded in 1987, Cape May Stage presents contemporary works in an intimate 110-seat Renaissance Revival theatre.
