Also announced for the Chicago theatre are ‘Satchmo at the Waldorf,’ ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ and Greta Oglesby, back as Aunt Esther in ‘Gem of the Ocean.’
The L.A. theatre’s slate ranges from revivals of ‘The Sound of Music’ and ‘Titanic’ to imports of two of last season’s most admired Broadway offerings, and a visit from composer Jason Robert Brown.
Also on tap at the California theatre are an appearance by Chicago’s Hypocrites, a staging of Ayad Akhtar’s ‘Disgraced’ and a new play by Julie Cho.
Florida theatre’s 2015–16 season will range from Shakespeare to a ‘Silence of the Lambs’ parody.
The Milwaukee company’s 29th season also includes the world premiere of a stage adaptation of ‘Ella Enchanted’ and new works in the theatre’s First Steps series.
Also on deck for the Kentucky theatre are plays by Amy Herzog and Rebecca Gilman, ‘Peter and the Starcatcher’ and a few holiday favorites.
The former Village Voice critic takes the award for online writing at TheaterMania.com, particularly two pieces, one playful, the other thoughtful.
The final season from outgoing a.d. Joseph Haj will include solo shows by Trieu Tran and KJ Sanchez, plus a new take on ‘Three Sisters’ by Libby Appel.
The literary awards, given to 10 writers each year, has gone to the playwrights of ‘Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play’ and ‘The Christians.’
