At a recent ceremony, the Dramatists Guild presented awards to Marc Shaiman, Nissy Aya, Candrice Jones, Dave Harris, Iakowi:he’ne’ Oakes, the Brooklyn Public Library, and Friends of George’s.
This year’s recipients include Samuel D. Hunter, Sanaz Toossi, Caridad Svich, Jules Feiffer, Gretchen Cryer, and Nancy Ford.
The first preview of the acclaimed musical, about the lynching of a falsely accused Jewish American, was picketed by neo-Nazis.
