The two-week residency will culminate in an online performance of their new work, ‘SWITCH.’
Other fellows include Rosten Woo for public art and design and Eddy Kwon for music.
Brittany K. Allen, Christina Anderson, Christopher Chen, and Portland-based Anya Pearson will develop new works.
Ucross will offer residencies to faculty and graduate students of the Yale School of Drama and School of Music.
Tina Landau and PigPen Theatre Co. are among the first cohort.
Director Danya Taymor and choreographer Travis Wall are named the 2020 recipients.
Dayo-Aliya will develop his play ‘Our Lady of Common Sorrows’ through the fellowship.
Daniella De Jesús is named grand prize winner as Miki Kim and Laura Winters are also honored.
Nearly 100 Black theatres will receive 1- or 2-year grants, ranging in size from $10,000 to $150,000.
