Welcome to American Theatre's New Website!

Take a tour of our new website, and learn more about what you can expect from our new online destination.

Welcome to AmericanTheatre.org—the brand-new home of American Theatre magazine online! The American Theatre staff has been working tirelessly for the past nine months to create this online destination for you, our readers, and now we hope you’re join us in welcoming our baby.

On AmericanTheatre.org, you’ll be able to find all the great content you love from our pages as well as additional online-only features, such as expanded photo galleries of specific productions and slideshows of shows playing across the country every week. We’ll be updating daily so you’ll be able to read about the latest theatre news right here. We’ll also be offering expanded interviews with our artists and pieces written by leading figures in the community.

Want our content delivered directly to you? Sign up for AT Weekly, our newsletter which will offer our latest and top stories right to your inbox. We’re also prioritizing our podcast, OffScript, which we will record on a bi-weekly basis with our editors, leading critics, and theatre luminaries. We’re slowly updating our archives, and soon all 30 years of American Theatre‘s storied history will be available for your perusal. Try us out on your tablet, smartphone or desktop—we’re here whenever you want us.

Why did it take us so long to make the online transition, you ask? We wanted to make the move at the right time, and with the dawning of a new theatrical season, we thought what better time than to usher in a new platform for our content. Does all of it have a catch? Well, sort of. If you are an Individual Member of Theatre Communications Group, our publisher, you will receive unparalleled access to the site with your log-in. If you’re part of a Member Theatre’s executive leadership, just use your log-in, and we hope staff at our Member Theatres and theatres across the country will consider joining us as Individual Members.

However, through Nov. 1, all content on AmericanTheatre.org will be free to access for everyone. So look around. Get familiar. And enjoy. We’re so happy you stopped by.

We aim to be the go-to source for all your theatre news, and we look forward to hearing your feedback. Let us know what types of content you want to see, which artists you want to hear from, or how we can improve in any way. We’re new online, but we’re excited to be here. And we wouldn’t be here without all of you.

The curtain is up, and the show is starting. Thank you for joining us!
