Valley Youth Theatre Announces 2015–16 Season

The children’s theatre season features giant peaches, marionettes, and mermaids.

PHEONIX, ARIZ.: Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) has announced its 2015—16 season, a mix of holiday favorites, classic musicals, and book adaptations for the stage.

The season begins with Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat (Aug. 14—30), with music by Andrew Loyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice.

Following will be James and the Giant Peach (Oct. 9—25), with a book by Timothy Allen McDonald and music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, based on the book by Roald Dahl.

Next will be the 20th anniversary production of VYT’s A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail  (Dec. 4—23).

Following will be Pinocchio (Feb. 5—21, 2016), a reimagining of the classic tale.

Next is Pinkalicious (Aug. 8—24), a musical based the book by Victoria Kann and Elizabeth Kann.

The season concludes with Disney’s The Little Mermaid (June 10—26, 2016).
