BRISTOL, PENN.: Bristol Riverside Theatre (BRT) has announced that Anne S. Kohn will join the theatre as its new managing director. Kohn, who comes to the theatre from Shakespeare Theatre Company, has been hired following a national search. She will take over on Sept. 6 for interim managing director Amy Kaissar, who has been serving in the role since Jamie Gilpatrick left the position.
“Anne was the unanimous choice of our search committee after an extensive national search,” BRT board chair Joe Sanginiti said in a statement. “As a respected and seasoned professional, she brings with her a love of theatre and a vast amount of experience that will help us maximize the potential of our expanded presence in Bucks County.”
Previously, Kohn was general manager of Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C., where she was responsible for managing a $20 million budget, overseeing company management departments, and more. For three years, Kohn also served as founding producing director of No Rules Theatre Company.
“I am honored to join BRT at this exciting time in its history and to partner with the board of trustees, Susan, Keith, and the staff to build upon the strengths of the organization,” said Kohn in a statement. “I look forward to working with such a passionate and committed team and to immersing myself in the dynamic and rich Philadelphia cultural community for many years to come.”
