Curious Theatre Sets 5-Show 2018-19 Season

Next season at the Denver theatre includes plays by Bekah Brunstetter, Stephen Karam, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Dominique Morisseau, and Bruce Graham.

DENVER: Curious Theatre Company has announced its 2018-19 season, which will include five productions.

The season will open with The Cake by Bekah Brunstetter (Aug. 30-Oct. 13). The play is about a lesbian couple who are getting married and a baker hesitant to bake their wedding cake.

Next will be The Humans by Stephen Karam (Nov. 1-Dec. 22). The play takes place on Thanksgiving, as a family gathers to celebrate at the youngest daughter’s new apartment and is forced to face some of its demons.

In the new year, Curious will present Gloria by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (Jan. 10-Feb. 16, 2018). The play tells of a tragedy that strikes a group of editorial assistants at a New York City magazine.

After that will be Skeleton Crew by Dominique Morisseau (March 7-April 13), about a group of auto workers in Detroit facing the possibility that their factory might close.

The season will close with Sanctions by Bruce Graham (May 2-June 15), about a university football team nearing the end of an NCAA probation .
