Rep Stage Announces 2019-20 Season

The lineup includes two premieres and contemporary classics.

COLUMBIA, MD.: The Rep Stage has announced their 2019-20 season, featuring a world and regional premiere, a heartwarming comedy, and a reminiscent musical.

The season kicks off with Souvenir (Sept. 5-22), by Stephen Temperley. The story of Florence Foster Jenkins and her infamous voice is shared through the eyes of her trusted accompanist, Cosme McMoon. Joseph W. Ritsch will direct.

Next up will be E2 (Oct. 31-Nov. 17), by Bob Bartlett. This world premiere is a revamped and reconstructed version of Christopher Marlowe’s tale of England’s own King Edward. Joseph W. Ritsch will direct.

After that is Kill Move Paradise (Feb. 20-Mar. 8, 2020), by James Ijames, which deals with the afterlife of a newly deceased trio as they attempt to make sense of the world they’ve left as they await their entrance into the unknown. Danielle Drakes will direct.

Dames at Sea ( Apr. 30-May 17, 2020), with book and lyrics by George Haimsohn and Robin Miller and music by Jim Wise, will close the season. This 1930s-style musical follows Ruby, a small town girl destined for Broadway, and the sailor she meets along the way. Michael Bobbitt will direct.

Rep Stage, a professional regional theatre in residence at Howard Community College, strives to produce both new works and contemporary classics in conjunction with regional artists.
