The Acting Company Announces New Partnership, Fall 2021 Tour

The new tour will bring together Marc Baylin and Alliance Artist Management in partnership with the Acting Company.

NEW YORK CITY: The Acting Company has announced plans to relaunch its national repertory touring program in fall 2021 in a new partnership with touring consultant Marc Baylin and Alliance Artist Management. The 2021-22 tour will feature a repertory of two plays, with details to be announced at a later date.

“Marc Baylin has long been the gold standard for booking theatre in the United States,” said Acting Company artistic director Ian Belknap in a statement. “His hands-on approach has already improved our touring systems, making it possible for us to play all different types of venues across the country extending our reach into communities nationwide. I am thrilled to be working with him and Rob Robbins at Alliance Artist Management to launch a new partnership for our 2021-22 national tour.”

This new partnership will take the Acting Company’s 48 years of touring, which has reached more than 4 million people across the country, and combine it with Baylin and Alliance Artist Management, for a combined 80 years of touring experience.

“It’s exciting to begin a new arrangement with Alliance Artist Management and to help direct the return to touring of the Acting Company, one of America’s great institutions of the theatre,” said Baylin in a statement.

The Acting Company was given a special 2003 Tony for Excellence in Theater, and most recently the Company received a 2019 Audelco Award for Best Play for its production of Nambi E. Kelley’s Native Son. Alumni include Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, David Schramm, Jeffrey Wright, and Rainn Wilson, among many others.

Added Robbins, founder and president of Alliance Artist Management, in a statement: “While we all anxiously await the return of live performance, it is energizing to launch this dynamic collaboration with Marc Baylin and Ian Belknap, along with his team at the Acting Company, which has long been the first name in touring theatre.”

Additionally, the Acting Company will launch an Alumni Spotlight Series this month, featuring virtual readings, concerts, conversations, and other events to highlight the work of the Company’s alumni actors. Further details will be announced soon.
