    Anne H talks about a contemporary investigation of what storytelling is, how its made, who its for…yup. In my opinion, and experience, aesthetic excellence can no longer exist without attention paid to the contract one establishes/invites with an audience and the context in which performance appears. Issues such as access, site, cost, engagement, intentionality…I find the most inspiring performance work today is at the intersection of adventurous theatricality and purposeful social intervention, with an attention to privilege and justice, a bent towards awe and delight, and a commitment to the encounter of strangers in a space made safe and wild, simultaneously.
