CHICAGO: Just in time for Halloween chills, the Roustabouts have announced plans for their first audio thriller, Put Your House in Order, by Ike Holter, which will be available to stream and download beginning on Oct. 28. The free recording, with a suggested donation of $10, will be available until 11:59 p.m. CT on Nov. 2. It is adapted from the play’s successful world premiere staging in 2017 at A Red Orchid Theatre.
A romantic comedy/horror thriller about a young Chicago couple whose first date spirals into a race against an invading force, Put Your House in Order was recorded live in Chicago, with co-direction by Ike Holter and Gus Menary, artistic director of Seattle’s Book-It Repertory Theatre. Previous collaborations between Holter and Menary include Exit Strategy, The Light Fantastic, and the twice-extended run of Put Your House in Order. This audio production, reimagined from that staging, includes sound design by Steve Labedz and original music by Aaron Stephenson.
Tony Santiago, Aurora Adachi-Winter, and Janice O’Neil will all reprise their roles from the original 2017 production. Reservations for the production can be found online.
