Hansol Jung, K.J. Sanchez, and Brendan Pelsue will all present new work inspired by classic works.
Grassi replaces long-time counsel Harry Weintraub.
The award, presented by Williamstown Theatre Festival, includes a cash prize and a commission to write a new play.
In addition to its namesake playwright, the season will feature work by August Wilson, Mike Bartlett, Kate Hamill, and Lee Hall.
The season includes world premieres, classics, and two stories of Cincinnati’s history.
L M Feldman’s ‘Thrive,’ which is in dialgoue with Shakespeare’s ‘Twelfth Night,’ will tour with the ASC’s production of that classic.
Among the new works will be a play by Vichet Chum and adaptations of ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’ and a Chekhov classic.
This season will feature the premiere of Benjamin Benne’s ‘Alma,’ as well as the company’s first production of an August Wilson work.
