Alia Jeraj, C. Michael Menge, and Atlese Robinson will participate in the Minneapolis development program.
The 2020 grants cover 560 organizations and put the foundation’s giving over $500 million since 1977.
Ramirez will receive a $5,000 commission, with an additional $2,500 each going to 2 theatres that aid in the play’s development.
The annual award will support a Black male or male-identifying theatre artist with resources to develop new work.
Finalists for the LGBTQ drama award include ‘The Amateurs’ by Jordan Harrison and ‘Dr. Ride’s American Beach House’ by Liza Birkenmeier.

The celebration will include performances from the original Broadway and Off-Broadway revival casts of ‘Merrily We Roll Along.’
The recipients are Intisar Awisse, Tai A Grauman, Bianca Guimarães de Manuel, Crystal Lee, Nikki Shaffeeullah, Olivia Shortt, and Echo Zhou.
A total of $76,000 from licensing fees and publishing royalties of ‘Slave Play’ will be randomly awarded to 152 writers.
