The West Virginia theatre’s annual summer festival will include world premieres by Allison Gregory, Chisa Hutchinson, and Susan Miller.

The playwright will win the $50,000 prize for drama, presented by the Whiting Foundation.

The theatre will mount new plays by Marisela Treviño Orta, Mike Bartlett, David Javerbaum, and the world premiere of a new Sherlock Holmes play from Jeffrey Hatcher.
The Maryland theatre’s season will include shows by Sharr White, Bess Wohl, Jane Martin, and Richard Mailman and Ryan Haase.
The messages are part of the Global Theater Initiative, which encourages theatres and individual artists to celebrate and take action on March 27.
