Creators will receive funding for extra development and rehearsal after their shows’ first productions.
The second round of 2021-22 Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards, totaling $731,000, will support 16 world premiere productions with extended development and rehearsal time.
The awards will allow 28 productions more time for rehearsal and development with the entire creative team.
The Awards offer extended development time to premieres to extend the life of the plays beyond their first productions.
15 new plays and musicals will receive financial support to extend development and rehearsal time.
Thirteen productions will receive support to extend rehearsal and development time for new plays and musicals.
The foundation’s awards make possible extra rehearsal and development time for new plays and musicals.
The grants will give extra rehearsal time for 10 productions of new works.
