Anybody look at the Black List from the film world as a possible model? It was started by Franklin Leonard, a development executive, who started polling about 90 of his fellow execs and asking them for their top 10 favorite unproduced screenplays they had read that year. He shared the results with all those who responded, and has since begun publishing the list annually. In addition, there’s a Black List website (blcklst.com), which is a closed network of approved industry members which allows writers to upload their screenplays and have them read by the Black List’s professional readers (as well as the industry buyers). The “About Us” on their website says that they’ve been asked to extend their model to theatre as well, though they have not yet done so. It might be worth taking a look at.
