CHARLESTON, S.C.: Charleston Stage has named Timothy Rogers their new managing director. Rogers succeeds Frank Mack, who left in February to join the Encore Musical Theatre Company.

“We are delighted to welcome Tim Rogers as our managing director,” Sarah Beardsley, the incoming president of Charleston Stage’s board of trustees, said in a statement. “Tim’s extensive experience in growth and audience engagement will help Charleston Stage build our ability to produce great theatre and educational programs.”

Rogers recently served as the vice president of engagement at Charleston’s Floyd Lee Locums, a services corporation, and has also served as the senior vice president of membership and investment at the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. Rogers is also a choral singer who will perform at Carnegie Hall this summer. He holds a BA from Baylor University and is a recipient of the Best Chamber in America Award from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.

“I’m honored to join Charleston Stage and for the chance to contribute to the cultural landscape of Charleston and our thriving arts community,” Rogers said in a statement. “I look forward to collaborating with talented artists, staff, and patrons to elevate our visibility and expand our reach, ensuring that Charleston Stage continues to thrive as a cornerstone of the performing arts scene.”

Charleston Stage, founded by Julian Wiles in 1978, is a professional theatre company South Carolina. As of 2023, its budget was around $4.1 million.
