Theatre Washington Announces Theatre Week 2025

Theatres in the Washington, D.C. region will celebrate the launch of the theatre season with discounted tickets to over 20 productions and free community events, from Sept. 18 to Oct. 5.

WASHINGTON, D.C.: Theatre Washington has today announced Theatre Week 2025, a three-week celebration of the D.C. area’s vibrant, diverse, and world-class theatre scene, which will run Sept. 18-Oct. 5. The annual event offers residents and visitors $25, $45, and $65 tickets to more than 20 productions across the region, made possible by TodayTix. Tickets will go on sale Sept. 9 at theatreweek.org. Additional highlights include Lights Up!, a free Theatre Week concert at The Wharf on Sunday, September 28 at 3 p.m.; and the 2025-26 Season Preview, an inside look at what’s ahead for the upcoming theatre season on Monday, Sept. 29 at Studio Theatre.

Every fall, Theatre Week gives residents and visitors a way to discover something new—whether it’s a small black box premiere, a big musical revival, or a free community event,” said Amy Austin, president and CEO of Theatre Washington, in a statement. “It’s a reminder that theatre isn’t just entertainment—it’s a place to gather, connect, and see the world through someone else’s eyes. This celebration opens doors to every corner of our theatre community, and everyone is welcome.”
