Now in its fourth year, the fellowship honors directors Aprita Mukherjee, Tatiana Pandiani, Mei Ann Teo, Hannah Wolf, and Jenna Worsham.
The new award will honor a director or choreographer for lifetime achievement and distinguished service in the regional theatre.
The SDC Foundation will present the ‘Lion King’ director with this award at a gala event on April 2, 2018.
David Cromer wins the award for outstanding direction and Rachel Rockwell wins for best choreography.
Five emerging directors will received professional development opportunities through the fellowship.
The Tony-winning director will be presented with the award at the foundation’s 2017 gala.
The annual award recognizes excellence in direction and choreography during the New York theatre season.
He is set to assume his post in early November.
The director will receive $5,000 and was recognized for her work in the Central region of the country.
The emerging director will work alongside Pam MacKinnon on a production at the Ahmanson Theatre.
